A bi-colour LED is pretty much just 2 LEDs in a single package. There are various ways that it can be implemented. In one sense, these LEDs have three colours. In the red, green version, one can clearly get red and green. If we light both of the LEDs at the same time, or alternate very quickly between the colours, one get a third colour, a mix of the other two. We get a sense of yellowy-orange color.
